FCTA Rejects AEDC's Land Grabbing Allegation, Demands Apology

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has dismissed allegations made by the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) claiming unlawful encroachment on land at the C2 Maitama substation. According to a statement from Bashir Madaki Sunusi, the Director of the Department of Development Control, the FCTA conducted a site visit with surveyors to verify land boundaries and found no evidence of encroachment.

The FCTA maintains that no electricity infrastructure was tampered with during the inspection and that power supply remained uninterrupted. Furthermore, the FCTA accused AEDC of failing to honor a meeting invitation and of attempting to blackmail and intimidate its staff through defamatory public statements.

The FCTA demands that AEDC withdraw its public claims and issue an unreserved public apology, warning that failure to comply may result in legal action for defamation.
