UNIOSUN Student Alleges Assault by Soldiers During Raid

Simpli Ademola, a student at Osun State University, recounted an assault that occurred during a raid by soldiers at the university's hostel in Osogbo. The incident took place while she was alone in her room preparing a meal.

She noticed soldiers in the area and initially believed the situation was calm. However, she later heard noise and was confronted by soldiers who demanded she open her door.

Ademola alleged that the soldiers became physically aggressive, pinning her against the bathroom door and instructing her not to shout. She claimed that the soldiers entered her room and attempted to restrain her.

Following the incident, the Nigerian Army announced on Tuesday that it would commence an investigation into the alleged misconduct involving its personnel, aiming to establish the facts surrounding the incident and ensure that anyone found culpable would be brought to justice.
