Soldier Assaults Osun State University Student in Hostel

Ademola, a female student at Osun State University, recounted an incident where a soldier assaulted her in her hostel room while she was preparing a meal. She noticed the soldier's presence and initially believed the situation was calm.

However, the soldier later became physically aggressive, pinning her against the bathroom door and instructing her not to shout. Despite her pleas, the soldier attempted to restrain her.

Following the incident, her hostel mates checked on her after hearing commotion. The Nigerian Army in Osogbo has commenced an investigation into the alleged misconduct involving its personnel, responding to complaints from the National Association of Nigerian Students.

The investigation aims to establish the facts surrounding the incident and ensure that anyone found culpable is brought to justice.
