Nigerian Army Investigates Misconduct Allegations at UNIOSUN

The Nigerian Army, through Major Ibrahim Yahaya, the Assistant Director of Army Public Relations at the Depot Nigerian Army Osogbo, has announced an investigation into allegations of misconduct involving military personnel at Osun State University (UNIOSUN). These allegations include the invasion of hostels, assault on male students, and rape of female students, which reportedly occurred on Monday night.

The Army has emphasized its commitment to conducting a thorough, impartial, and transparent investigation into these claims. Major Yahaya has appealed for credible evidence from alleged victims to assist in the inquiry, stating that the Army will not condone indiscipline.

The Army has noted that it has not received any formal complaints or credible medical reports regarding the allegations. The Vice Chancellor of UNIOSUN, Professor Odunayo Clement Adebooy, has amplified these concerns on various online platforms.
