Kano Forum Urges Opposition to Offer Policy Alternatives

The Forum of Federal Government Appointees from Kano, represented by spokesperson Dr Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, challenged opposition leaders, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party’s Peter Obi, to present clear policy alternatives rather than criticize President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. Kwankwaso, who is also the Executive Director of Finance at the Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority, noted that the Tinubu administration is executing infrastructure projects worth trillions of naira across Kano State and Northern Nigeria under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He listed over 30 federal projects, including the N334 billion Kano-Kongolom Road dualisation, the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Expressway reconstruction, and the Ajaokuta-Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Gas Pipeline. The Forum intends to mobilize support for Tinubu’s re-election and local candidates, including Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and Senators Barau Jibrin, Abdulrahman Kawu Sumaila, and Ibrahim Shekarau, in the 2027 elections.

Kwankwaso dismissed a potential political alliance involving Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, claiming it lacks strength.
