FG Clarifies NERSI Cash Support Acceptance Process

The Federal Government has addressed concerns regarding the acceptance of the ₦50,000 monthly cash support under the National Economic Resilience and Social Investment scheme (NERSI). It clarified that beneficiaries are not bound by a strict deadline but are encouraged to respond quickly upon receiving an SMS notification of their eligibility.

The government emphasized that early acceptance is beneficial, although reminder messages will be sent to those who do not respond immediately. This clarification aims to alleviate fears among Nigerians about missing notifications and potentially disqualifying themselves from the support.

The NERSI scheme is part of the government's broader initiative to assist vulnerable Nigerians amid economic challenges, including the impact of fuel subsidy removal and rising living costs. Additionally, those who believe they qualify but have not received notifications are advised to check official government channels for updates on their eligibility status.
