FG Launches 700km Gombe–Biu Road Dualization Project

The Federal Government of Nigeria officially flagged off the dualization of the 700km Gombe–Biu Road project on a Thursday, with Minister of Works David Umahi announcing the initiative. The project, which is part of a larger 700km legacy project stretching from Akwanga to Maiduguri, will see construction begin within 30 days, following a request from the Gombe State government.

Umahi expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu's administration to overcome security challenges and emphasized the importance of infrastructure development for economic growth. The contract for the project was awarded to Hitech Construction Company through a competitive procurement process.

Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya highlighted the project's significance for the state's infrastructure and economic development, assuring full support from the state government. The project is expected to create jobs and enhance trade opportunities in the region.
