FG Launches Borno Road Project to Enhance Security

The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially launched the rehabilitation of the Bama-Banki-Dikwa-Gamboru-Ngala road in Borno State, a project aimed at boosting security and reviving economic activities in the region following years of insurgency. The flag-off event took place over the weekend and was led by Minister of Works David Umahi.

This initiative reflects President Bola Tinubu's commitment to completing long-abandoned strategic road projects, which are seen as vital infrastructure for peace and development in the northeast. Umahi noted that several road projects awarded in previous years remained unfinished until the current administration revived them.

The road project is part of a broader strategy by the Federal Government to combat insecurity and enhance military mobility while connecting communities with neighboring countries like Chad and Cameroon. Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum described the flag-off as a milestone in the state's recovery from insurgency.

Aliko Dangote of Dangote Group praised the partnership between the Federal Government and the private sector in delivering infrastructure projects.
