FG Commends Bauchi for ACReSAL Project Success

The Federal Government of Nigeria has commended Bauchi State for its exemplary performance in the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes project (ACReSAL), which is supported by the World Bank. During the Hybrid Additional Financing Pre-Appraisal Mission meeting held in Bauchi, Abdulhameed Umar, the National Project Coordinator of ACReSAL, noted that Bauchi was chosen for the meeting due to its strong performance, which has led to the World Bank's decision to provide additional funding for scaling up activities in 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Umar expressed that ACReSAL is marked as a performing project, and the pre-appraisal mission aims to review its performance to facilitate the release of additional funds. Dr Joy Anyanwu, the Task-Team Lead of ACReSAL, praised the leadership of Bauchi State's Governor and acknowledged the state's commitment to donor-funded programs.

She emphasized the importance of the project coordinators in delivering results, which has enabled the prospect of further financing.
