FG and Lagos State Launch Breakfast Program for Pupils

The Federal Government of Nigeria and the Lagos State Government are partnering to provide breakfast for public school pupils as part of a new initiative aimed at improving learning outcomes. Dr.

Aderemi Adebowale announced the program at a press conference, stating that it will launch on June 30. This initiative is part of the National Home-Grown School Feeding Program, which aims to ensure that no child is denied quality education due to hunger.

The program will be managed by the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) and will involve collaboration across federal, state, and local governments, as well as private sector stakeholders. The initiative aims to mobilize individuals, corporate organizations, and faith-based groups to support the nutritional needs of schoolchildren.

It includes a digital dashboard for monitoring and assessing the program's impact. The pilot phase will target thousands of pupils in public primary schools across Lagos State, with the goal of enhancing academic performance and addressing classroom hunger.
