Tinubu Administration Launches Youth Data Bank Initiative

On September 30, 2026, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration launched the National Youth Data Bank (NYDB) in Abuja, aimed at linking Nigerians aged 15 to 35 with job opportunities and skills. Minister of Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande, stated that the initiative would help map youth skills, locations, and needs across Nigeria.

The NYDB will enable the government to direct opportunities in both public and private sectors to the appropriate individuals. Registration will include young Nigerians from both formal and informal sectors, such as agriculture, sports, and creative industries.

Olawande clarified that the NYDB is a long-term government program, not intended for electoral purposes. Otunba Oluyinka Akerele, Managing Director and Chief Executive of POGMA Nigeria Limited, the project's technical partner, announced that registration points would be established in educational institutions and local communities.

Enumerators will be deployed across all 774 local government areas to ensure comprehensive coverage.
