FG and Lagos Launch ‘PBAT FEEDS’ Initiative for Pupils

The Federal Government is collaborating with Lagos State and local governments to launch the ‘PBAT FEEDS’ initiative, which aims to provide nutritious breakfast and snacks to primary school pupils. The initiative is expected to be launched on June 30, with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu overseeing the program.

Dr. Aderemi Adebowale, who manages the Renew Hope Nation home-grown school feeding program, emphasized that the initiative is designed to ensure that no child is deprived of quality education due to hunger.

The program will involve partnerships with individuals, corporate organizations, and faith-based groups to support the nutritional needs of schoolchildren. Ms.

Abisola Olusanya, Lagos State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Systems, urged stakeholders in the private sector to support local farmers who will supply food items for the program. The initiative will commence with a pilot phase targeting thousands of pupils across public primary schools in Lagos State, aiming to enhance educational outcomes and address poverty.
