Nigerian Education Ministry Releases Approved Textbooks List
The Federal Ministry of Education has announced the final list of ranked and approved textbooks for use in Nigerian schools for the 2026–2028 period. This announcement was made in a statement by the Director of Press and Public Relations, Boriowo Folasade, following the completion of the first phase of the national textbook ranking exercise.
The approved list includes textbooks for Primary 1, Primary 4, Junior Secondary School 1, and Senior Secondary School 1. Each approved title features a unique Ranking/QR Tracking Code, which includes details such as the title, author(s), publisher, and year of publication to enhance identification, monitoring, and accountability.
The exercise was overseen by the Minister of Education, Maruf Tunji Alausa, and the Minister of State for Education, Suwaiba Sa’id Ahmad. The ministry noted that the ranking exercise will continue in phases, with the next phase covering additional class levels.
Stakeholders are encouraged to use the approved list for selecting and procuring textbooks.
