FG Raises Conditional Cash Grant to ₦25,000 in Jigawa

The Federal Government has reviewed the conditional cash grant in Jigawa State, increasing it from ₦10,000 to ₦25,000 per payment cycle. This initiative, aimed at improving the welfare of citizens amid rising economic hardships, was announced by Auwal Sankara, the Commissioner for Special Duties and Humanitarian Affairs.

As of the latest update, 154,412 vulnerable households have been registered as beneficiaries of the program, which operates across the state's 27 local government areas. The distribution process is currently underway, with the first phase of grant distribution having commenced in January.

So far, 126,636 registered households have collected their payment cards. The increase in the grant amount is expected to enhance the program's impact, allowing beneficiaries to receive a total of ₦75,000 across three payment cycles.

This initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu's agenda to improve livelihoods and strengthen rural economies, as emphasized by Sankara, who acknowledged the modest yet significant potential impact on beneficiaries' lives.
