FG Revives 16 Abandoned Digital Libraries in Colleges

The Federal Government of Nigeria has successfully revived 16 abandoned digital library projects across Federal Unity Colleges, as disclosed by Dr. Tunji Alausa, the Minister of Education, during an inspection in Kano State.

This initiative is part of the government's efforts to modernize public education and expand access to technology-driven learning. The digital libraries are designed to provide students with a world-class environment to acquire digital literacy and critical thinking skills necessary for today's knowledge economy.

The Federal Government College in Kano has been equipped with solar power, air conditioning, and nearly 80 computer workstations to enhance teaching, learning, and research. Dr.

Alausa emphasized that the rehabilitation of these facilities demonstrates the Tinubu administration's commitment to improving public education and ensuring that every Nigerian child has access to technology-enabled education. The government plans to continue expanding digital infrastructure as part of its educational reform agenda.
