Nigeria Launches Renovated Digital E-Library in Kano

The Federal Government of Nigeria commissioned a renovated digital e-library at Federal Government College Kano as part of efforts to modernize public schools and expand access to technology-driven learning across the country. Dr.

Olatunji, the Minister of Education, reaffirmed the government's commitment to a proposed public-private partnership (PPP) land swap initiative aimed at improving educational infrastructure. Mr.

Ikharo Attah, Special Assistant to the Minister of Media Communication, stated that the upgraded digital e-library represents a significant milestone in preparing Nigerian students for a technology-driven future. The facility includes solar energy equipment, air conditioning, and nearly 80 digital computer workstations to enhance students' digital literacy.

The Tinubu administration inherited 36 abandoned e-library projects, and the current initiative aims to rehabilitate these facilities. The project is expected to be completed by August 31, 2026, with the first set of learners to be admitted in September.

The government remains open to collaboration with alumni and stakeholders to support institutional development.
