FG to Pay N35,000 Wage Award Arrears by Mid-August

The Federal Government has announced that it will commence payment of the outstanding N35,000 monthly wage award arrears to federal civil servants before the middle of August. This assurance was provided by the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, during a meeting with the leadership of the Joint Public Service Negotiating Council (JPSNC), led by National President Kabiru Ado Minjibir, in Abuja.

The government is in the final stages of securing the necessary funds for these payments. Oyedele emphasized the Tinubu administration's commitment to fulfilling agreements with workers, stating that the government will only make promises it can keep.

Eligible federal workers will begin receiving the wage award once the final approval process is completed. Additionally, outstanding promotion arrears are being processed, with the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Finance, Raymond Omachi, pledging closer collaboration with organized labor to expedite the processing of workers' entitlements.
