FG Promises N35,000 Wage Award Payment by August 15

The Federal Government of Nigeria has assured federal civil servants that the payment of the outstanding N35,000 wage award arrears will commence before August 15. This announcement was made by Dr. Taiwo Oyedele, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, during a meeting with the leadership of the Joint Public Service Negotiating Council (JPSNC), Trade Side, led by National President Kabiru Ado Minjibir in Abuja.

The government is also working to clear pending promotion arrears. Dr. Oyedele emphasized the Tinubu administration's commitment to fulfilling its obligations to workers and stated that the process for releasing funds for the wage award is in its final stages.

He expressed confidence that eligible public servants would begin receiving payments before mid-August. Additionally, he confirmed that outstanding promotion arrears are being processed and directed ministry officials to expedite action on unresolved labor-related matters, aiming to build trust through transparency and engagement.
