FGN Power Company Backs STEM Camp for Young Innovators

FGN Power Company (FGNPC) has demonstrated its commitment to enhancing technical capacity and innovation in Nigeria's power sector by supporting the Visiola Foundation’s 2026 STEM Summer Camp. The Visiola Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating and mentoring African girls and young women from underserved communities.

The week-long camp culminated in a closing competition held in Abuja, where participants designed and built renewable energy prototypes. These projects were evaluated by a panel of judges, including Kenny Anuwe, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of FGN Power Company, who served as Chief Judge.

Anuwe emphasized the importance of investing in Nigeria's youth to build the necessary technical capacity for transforming the power sector. He stated that collaboration with organizations like the Visiola Foundation is crucial, as the Federal Government cannot achieve this alone.

FGNPC's commitment is also reflected in its initiatives such as the Siemens Energy Education & Development (SEED) and the Power Training Institute (PTI), aimed at strengthening engineers' skills in power system simulation and planning.
