Fidson, Ohara Pharmaceutical Partner to Boost African Healthcare

Fidson Healthcare, a Nigerian pharmaceutical giant, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Japanese firm Ohara Pharmaceutical at the Tokyo International Conference on African Development. The partnership aims to boost Africa's healthcare by scaling up local drug production, enhancing research, and reducing the continent's reliance on imported medicines.

The collaboration, initiated in 2019, focuses on technology transfer and innovation, with Ohara providing expertise in advanced manufacturing of generic medicines. This strategic alliance is set to deepen Fidson's capabilities in producing specialized medicines for various conditions, including critical therapeutic areas like pediatric oncology.
