FIFA Accepts Resignations of NFF Officials Amid Reforms

FIFA has formally accepted the resignations of former Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president Ibrahim Gusau, General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi, and other NFF Executive Committee members, as confirmed by National Sports Commission Director General Bukola Olopade. This decision follows a mass resignation of key officials from the NFF last week, driven by stakeholders advocating for reforms to enhance the administration and performance of Nigerian football.

Olopade made this announcement after leading Nigeria's delegation to a meeting with senior FIFA officials in Zurich, Switzerland, on Tuesday. NSC Chairman Shehu Dikko was also present, along with former NFF president Amaju Pinnick, who attended as Special Adviser to the CAF President and Deputy Chairman of the FIFA Men’s National Teams Competitions Committee.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino and other FIFA officials participated in the discussions. Olopade described the meeting as productive, stating that FIFA agreed to collaborate with the NSC and stakeholders to establish a framework for the proposed reforms, aiming to improve Nigeria's football performance globally.
