FIFA Fines Israeli FA for Breaching Anti-Discrimination Rules

FIFA has imposed a fine of 150,000 Swiss francs (approximately 190,700 USD) on the Israeli Football Association (IFA) due to multiple breaches of its anti-discrimination obligations. The disciplinary committee of FIFA found that the IFA had failed to take meaningful action against the persistent racist behavior associated with Beitar Jerusalem.

As part of the sanctions, FIFA has ordered the IFA to display a prominently visible anti-discrimination banner during its next three FIFA competitions at home matches. Furthermore, the IFA is required to invest a portion of the fine towards implementing a plan to ensure actions against discrimination are taken to prevent future occurrences.

This decision follows a report from the Palestinian Football Association alleging discrimination by the IFA, prompting FIFA to initiate an investigation in October 2024.
