Super Eagles Drop to Fourth in Africa in FIFA Rankings

In the latest FIFA rankings released, Nigeria's Super Eagles retained their 26th position globally but fell to fourth in Africa. The team's last international friendly match against Portugal on June 2 resulted in a 2-1 loss.

Egypt advanced to third place in Africa following their impressive performance in the FIFA World Cup 2026, where they eliminated Argentina 3-2 in the round of 16. Morocco, which reached the quarter-finals of the same tournament, maintained its position as the top African team, ranked seventh globally.

Senegal dropped three places but retained the second position in Africa, while Algeria fell one spot to fifth. Spain, newly crowned world champions, returned to the summit of the global rankings, with Argentina dropping to second and England and Brazil completing the top five.
