Spain Tops FIFA Rankings, Nigeria at 26th Position

In the latest FIFA rankings, Spain has ascended to the No. 1 position, overtaking Argentina after their World Cup victory, where they defeated Argentina 1-0 in extra time, with Ferran Torres scoring the decisive goal in the 106th minute. Spain's total points now stand at 1,995.88, while Argentina, despite a strong tournament run, has dropped to second place with 1,970.37 points.

France remains in third place, and Brazil has climbed to fourth. Nigeria is currently ranked 26th globally, having dropped to fourth in Africa due to Egypt's impressive performance, which saw them reach the round of 16 in the World Cup.

Egypt is now ranked 24th, overtaking Nigeria. The next FIFA ranking update will occur on October 7, 2026.
