FIFA Fines Nigeria and DR Congo Over World Cup Incident

The Congolese Football Association faced a heavier penalty, receiving a fine of 5,000 Swiss francs due to the use of a laser pointer and similar electronic devices during the match, which also contravened Article 17 of the Disciplinary Code. FIFA's disciplinary actions are based on specific circumstances of the case and are subject to appeal.

The governing body of global football noted that the disciplinary summary was released primarily for media information, while the full legal decision would be communicated directly to the parties involved.
