Fire Destroys Residential Building in Ibadan, No Casualties

On Thursday, a fire engulfed a residential building located at No. 16, Zone 5, Agoro Aroko Area, Breweries in Alakia, Ibadan. The incident was reported to the Oyo Fire Services Agency, whose Chairman, Mr. Moroof Akinwande, stated that no casualties were recorded.

Firefighters responded promptly to the distress call and found the eight-room building engulfed in flames and thick smoke. They commenced firefighting operations and successfully extinguished the fire within a short period.

Akinwande identified the cause of the fire as unattended cooking gas. He advised residents to contact firefighters immediately during fire emergencies to ensure a swift response and urged the public to remain vigilant and fire-conscious, emphasizing the importance of having functional fire extinguishers in households.
