Fire Destroys Two Flats in Gombe, N80m Damage Reported

A fire incident occurred at Yalenguruza Quarters, opposite MacConnels Hotel, Gombe State, destroying property worth about N80 million. The Federal Fire Service, Gombe State Command, received a distress call at 3:03 PM and mobilized its FFS 215 Multipurpose Water Tender from the ATM Fire Station, arriving at the scene by 3:15 PM.

Firefighters, led by ASF I. Gambo Mohammed and assisted by ASFII Mu’azu Tagwai, commenced firefighting operations and successfully extinguished the blaze using a medium jet from the water tender.

Their prompt action prevented the fire from spreading further, saving property estimated at N150 million. No casualties were reported.

After ensuring the fire was completely extinguished, firefighters inspected the premises and confirmed no further threats. The operation concluded with personnel and equipment returning to the station at approximately 5:38 PM.

The command urged residents to remain vigilant and report fire incidents promptly to minimize loss of lives and property.
