U-15 Table Tennis Championships Kick Off with Clinic

The Adegboyega Efunkoya Sports Foundation has launched the 7th edition of the National U-15 Table Tennis Championships, starting with a two-day clinic at the indoor hall of the National Stadium from August 11 to 12, 2023. The main tournament is scheduled for August 13 to 15, 2023.

The clinic aims to enhance young athletes' skills, including strokes, footwork, and tactical approaches, while promoting discipline and innovation. It will also cover physical conditioning and modern training techniques to prepare players for competition and attract national selectors.

Babatunde Obisanya, Chairman of the Foundation and former national team coach, expressed gratitude for the support from global stakeholders and reiterated the Foundation's commitment to combining sports with education. The championship has previously produced notable talents like Matthew Kuti, now a key member of Nigeria's senior squad, and other alumni who currently represent Nigeria at the junior level.

The Foundation is dedicated to honoring Dr. Adegboyega Efunkoya, whose vision significantly advanced table tennis in Nigeria.
