UEFA Warns Italy on Euro 2032 Hosting Infrastructure

UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin has issued a warning to Italy regarding its role as a co-host for the UEFA Euro 2032 tournament, stating that the country’s current football stadium infrastructure is inadequate. He highlighted that unless Italy upgrades its facilities, it may jeopardize its hosting responsibilities alongside Turkey.

The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has until October to propose five stadiums for the tournament. Čeferin expressed concerns that without immediate action to improve infrastructure, UEFA may reassign the matches, marking a significant setback for Italian football. He also pointed out that the former FIGC President Gabriele Gravina's resignation should prompt Italian politicians to reflect on why Italy has the worst football infrastructure in Europe.
