Lagos Residents Urge Action Amid Severe Flooding Crisis

Residents of Lagos, particularly in areas such as Ago Palace, Okota Road, Amuwo Odofin, Ilaj, and Ajah, are experiencing significant flooding that has made movement difficult and disrupted daily life. Mr.

Stella, a resident of Greenfield Estate, described the situation as a recurring nightmare, especially during heavy rainfall. Despite the high cost of living in the area, flooding remains a persistent issue.

Sarah Onyeachonam, another resident, reported that flooding has kept many indoors, preventing them from going to work. Roads have become impassable, and the flooding has been exacerbated by blocked drainage channels and poor road conditions.

The flooding has become an annual occurrence during the rainy season, prompting residents to call on relevant authorities to clear drainage systems and rehabilitate damaged roads. Additionally, private schools in Ajah have temporarily suspended academic activities due to safety concerns for pupils and staff.
