Lagos Residents Frustrated by Severe Flooding Issues

Residents of Lagos have expressed significant frustration over recurring flooding that has severely impacted their lives and disrupted children's education. The flooding, which began on Monday afternoon and persisted until Tuesday afternoon, has left roads submerged and properties damaged, with many pupils unable to attend school.

Parents, such as Taiwo Kuton, have struggled to transport their children to school due to the hazardous conditions. The situation has been exacerbated by overflowing drainage channels, with community leaders like Joseph Nwobobo calling on the Ogun State government to take urgent action to improve drainage infrastructure.

The Lagos State government, represented by Tokunbo Wahab, has assured residents of its commitment to safeguarding lives and properties, enforcing environmental laws, and removing illegal structures obstructing drainage channels. The flooding has raised concerns about future downpours causing extensive damage unless immediate measures are taken.
