Shield Africa Empowers Benue Youths in Fish Farming

Shield Africa has initiated a six-month training program focused on fish farming for youths and women in Benue State, specifically targeting the Oju Local Government Area. This program, part of the Shield Africa Farmer Academy, aims to enhance food security and address unemployment.

Mr. Osenaga Orokpo, the president of Shield Africa, described the initiative as a means to promote sustainable agriculture and empower vulnerable groups.

The training includes intensive practical sessions on fish production techniques, farm management, and agribusiness development. Participants will receive support packages, including startup capital and resources to establish their fish farms.

The program is designed to equip participants with practical agricultural knowledge and entrepreneurial skills, enabling them to create sustainable businesses and improve livelihoods within their communities. The initiative is expected to contribute significantly to food production and economic growth in Nigeria, particularly among rural populations.
