Foodies Choice Awards Launches Nominations Across Africa

Nominations for the inaugural Foodies Choice Awards have commenced across Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda. This consumer-driven initiative, launched by Maxima Media Group, aims to recognize outstanding contributions across Africa’s food and agriculture value chain in 50 categories, including agriculture, food brands, culinary arts, and hospitality.

The awards are timely, as agriculture significantly contributes over one-fifth of Nigeria’s GDP and supports millions of livelihoods. The Federal Government's $500 million agricultural investment fund aims to enhance food production and agribusiness growth.

Oluwafemi Ogundoro, Group Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Maxima Media Group, described the awards as a platform for consumers to recognize excellence and promote higher industry standards. KPMG has been appointed as the official assurance partner to oversee the nomination and voting processes, ensuring transparency and trust in the awards.
