Ex-MMA Star Ekufu Launches Bahgia Award in Lagos

Lovethpatra Ekufu, a former MMA star, has inaugurated the Bahgia Award, aimed at celebrating the achievements of Black Africans and people of African descent worldwide. The award ceremony is scheduled for July 5 at the Marriott Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos.

Ekufu emphasized that the initiative seeks to recognize individuals whose contributions often go unnoticed and aims to inspire young people across the continent. The event will feature a daytime conference and a gala night, honoring winners across twenty categories, alongside entertainment performances.

Charl Ezerim, Vice President of Bahgia, noted the importance of unity among people of African descent, regardless of religion or culture. The event will engage relevant government institutions, including the National Sports Commission and the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, to ensure its success.

Olisa Chukwuma, the head strategist, highlighted the role of sports in youth development, while Emeka stressed the importance of education and positive values for young people.
