Sowore Criticizes Akpabio's Vote Promise to Tinubu

Activist Omoyele Sowore has publicly criticized Godswill Akpabio, the Senate President, for his pledge to deliver Akwa Ibom State votes to Bola Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election. Sowore accused Akpabio of benefiting from electoral manipulation in previous elections, particularly referencing Akpabio's claims of securing votes for Tinubu in the 2019 elections.

Sowore alleged that Akpabio's actions were so blatant that even a professor had accused him of manipulating election results, which led to jail time for the professor. He further claimed that Akpabio failed to secure a victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the party's primaries ahead of the 2023 elections until a court ruling allowed for his candidacy.

Sowore concluded his remarks by labeling Akpabio's supporters as "foolish people.".
