NFSS Seeks EFCC Collaboration to Combat Corruption

The Nigerian Forest Security Service (NFSS), led by Command General Adewol Joshua Osatimehin, has requested collaboration with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to enhance the fight against economic and financial crimes in Nigeria. This request was made during a courtesy visit to EFCC's headquarters in Jabi, Abuja, where Osatimehin commended EFCC's Executive Chairman Ola Olukoyede for his leadership in tackling corruption.

The NFSS aims to leverage its grassroots presence across the country to support EFCC's intelligence gathering efforts, particularly in monitoring financial flows related to criminal activities such as banditry and illegal mining. Osatimehin emphasized the importance of building the capacity of NFSS personnel in investigative areas, particularly financial administration.

Olukoyede expressed willingness to partner with NFSS, highlighting the need for collaborative action to ensure the security of Nigeria's vast forest reserves, which have become havens for criminal elements. The partnership aims to address the menace of illegal mining and other crimes perpetrated in forest areas.
