Charity Ohotu Foundation Grants Scholarships to 40+ Kids

The Charity Ohotu Foundation has awarded scholarships to more than 40 children from indigent families in Yala Local Government Area, Cross River State. This initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden on families and ensure that poverty does not hinder children's education.
The foundation, established in 2025 by Ms Charity Ohotu Omaji, who is pursuing a doctoral programme in Health Informatics at Rutgers University, provides support across nursery, primary, and secondary schools. Currently, 25 children, primarily orphans and those from widowed mothers, are enrolled in nursery and primary schools, while 22 attend secondary schools, including Clinical Schools in Okuku and Vathado International Schools.
The foundation supplies essential educational materials and has seen beneficiaries making significant academic progress. Additionally, the foundation is preparing for a free medical outreach targeting at least 500 beneficiaries in the coming months, further extending its humanitarian efforts.
