Kogi Family and Dog Die After Consuming Contaminated Food

Four members of a family in Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area, Kogi State, died after eating amala, along with their dog, which also perished after consuming the same meal. In response to this tragic incident, the Kogi State Government has ordered an immediate investigation to determine the cause of the deaths.

Kingsley Fanwo, the Commissioner for Information and Communications, stated that Governor Ahmed Ododo has directed the Commissioner for Health to conduct a comprehensive inquiry, particularly looking into the possibility of food poisoning or contamination. The investigation will examine relevant samples and evidence according to public health procedures.

The government has urged the public to remain calm and refrain from drawing conclusions until the investigation is complete. Governor Ododo expressed condolences to the bereaved family and the community of Ihima, assuring that further information will be provided as verified facts emerge from the investigation.
