France Deploys Rafale Jets to UAE Amid Iranian Threats

France has deployed a unit of Rafale fighter jets to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to safeguard its military bases from potential Iranian attacks, as stated by French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot. The deployment, which occurred on a Tuesday, involves the French Air Force's Rafale aircraft stationed at the Dhafra Air Base near Abu Dhabi.

Barrot emphasized the importance of ensuring security in the region, particularly after an Iranian drone strike on a fuel tank in Abu Dhabi that caused a fire but did not impact Amazon's data centers. The French action is part of a broader strategy to neutralize Iranian drone operations and secure airspace above the base.

This military readiness comes amid heightened tensions following an Israeli attack that killed Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, prompting Iran to threaten retaliation against U.S. allies in the Gulf region.
