PDP Crisis: Conflicting Letters to INEC Spark Chaos in State Congress Plans

A fresh crisis has erupted within the People's Democratic Party (PDP) as conflicting letters were sent to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by PDP National Chairman Umar Damagum and National Secretary Senator Samuel Anyanwu. Damagum initially informed INEC of the postponement of state congresses in Cross River, Plateau, and Kebbi States, citing operational issues.

However, Anyanwu later wrote to INEC insisting that the congresses proceed as originally scheduled, disregarding Damagum's directive. This clash of instructions has created confusion within the party leadership regarding the conduct of the state congresses.
