Chisco Group Donates Buses for Inmate Transportation

The Chisco Group has donated two buses to the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Ikoyi, Lagos, to facilitate the transportation of awaiting-trial inmates to court. This donation, which has a combined capacity to transport up to 100 individuals, was made as part of the 70th birthday celebrations of Chief (Dr.) Chidi Anyaegbu, MFR, CON, the Founder and Executive Chairman of Chisco Group.

The buses are intended to address the operational challenges faced by the Nigerian Correctional Service, particularly the lack of reliable vehicles for court transportation, which can lead to delays in case resolutions. Chief Chidi Anyaegbu emphasized the importance of this initiative in improving access to justice, stating that justice cannot function effectively if individuals cannot reach the courts.

Chief Obinna Anyaegbu, Managing Director of Chisco Transport Limited, confirmed that the Group would maintain the buses and monitor their impact on court attendance and case progression, establishing performance indicators to measure effectiveness.
