FRSC Boosts Patrols to Curb Road Crashes in Cross River

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced intensified efforts to enhance traffic management and reduce road crashes and traffic offences in Cross River State during the Ember Months of 2026. In a statement by Corps Commander Innocent Etuk, the FRSC has implemented measures to address increased vehicular movement, traffic congestion, and road-user indiscipline.

Patrol teams have been strategically deployed to monitor and enforce traffic regulations, focusing on tyre-related offences, mechanically defective vehicles, and number plate violations. The FRSC is collaborating with the Cross River State Government, transport unions, security agencies, and other stakeholders to achieve the Ember Months campaign objectives.

Public enlightenment campaigns will be conducted through various media and community engagements. Etuk urged road users to exercise caution and plan their journeys carefully, especially avoiding night travel.

The FRSC will deploy personnel to key traffic areas and emphasized that the operation aims to save lives and ensure smooth movement across the state’s 18 local government areas.
