FRSC Deploys 2,500 Personnel for Osun Election Safety

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced the deployment of 2,500 personnel and 50 operational vehicles, including seven heavy-duty tow trucks and six ambulances, across Osun State for the governorship election scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2026. The Corps will enforce a 'Restriction and No Movement' order starting at 6:00 am on election day, with personnel positioned at strategic locations to manage traffic and respond to emergencies.

The deployment includes 2,300 officers from the Osun Sector Command, supplemented by 50 personnel each from the Ondo, Ekiti, Oyo, and Ogun Sector Commands. Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed stated that the FRSC is committed to ensuring a peaceful and credible electoral process while maintaining road safety.

He emphasized that personnel would operate with professionalism and respect for human rights, collaborating with the Inter Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES) and other agencies. The FRSC will also conduct traffic control, crowd management, and emergency rescue operations before, during, and after the election.
