FRSC Deploys 2,500 Personnel for Osun Governorship Election

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has deployed 2,500 personnel and 50 operational vehicles to Osun State in preparation for the governorship election scheduled for Saturday, 15 August 2026. This deployment spans the three senatorial districts and aims to ensure effective traffic management, emergency response, clearance of road obstructions, and enforcement of movement restrictions during the election.

The personnel include 2,300 from the Osun Sector Command and 50 each from the Ondo, Ekiti, Oyo, and Ogun sector commands. The operational vehicles consist of seven heavy-duty tow trucks and six ambulances, strategically positioned for rescue operations.

Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed stated that the FRSC's role is to maintain safe and accessible roads during the electoral process, emphasizing professionalism and respect for human rights. The FRSC will also certify vehicles for transporting electoral materials and conduct a Train-the-Trainer workshop with other security agencies to enhance personnel capacity.

Movement restrictions will be enforced from 0600HRS on election day.
