Fubara Calls for Peace in Rivers State During Inauguration

On Wednesday, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara called for respect and adherence to the ongoing reconciliation process among parties in the state, highlighting that peace is essential for development. He expressed satisfaction that Rivers State is now in a ‘state of rest’ following a prolonged political crisis.

Fubara made these remarks during the inauguration of an Entrepreneurship Centre and Engineering Faculty Building at Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic in Rumuola, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area. The Rainbow Coalition reconciliation committee, led by Senator Magnus Abe, has met with Fubara twice in recent weeks to integrate the governor’s camp into the state’s new political arrangements ahead of the 2027 elections.

Fubara emphasized his administration's focus on delivering significant projects that will have a lasting impact on the community, stating the importance of preparing youth for future challenges through strategic programs.
