Osogbo Mini-bus Drivers Protest Fuel Price Hike

On Wednesday, mini-bus drivers in Osogbo, Osun State, protested against the recent hike in fuel prices, which has significantly impacted their operations. The protest, organized by drivers including Mr.

Ajayi Fatai, aimed to raise awareness and push for a review of transport fares. Drivers expressed that the current fare of N200 per drop is no longer sustainable due to the increased fuel prices, which have risen to between N1,250 and N1,500, alongside rising spare part costs.

Mr. Mufutau Ajani, another driver, highlighted the daily ticket charges imposed by the government that further affect their business.

The protest caused gridlock around the Olaiya flyover, but police and officials from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) were present to maintain order. Following the protest, normal business activities resumed in the area.
