Sowore Warns Nigerians Against Atiku's Fuel Subsidy Claims

Omoyele Sowore, the 2027 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), issued a warning to Nigerians not to be misled by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar's promises regarding fuel subsidy policies. Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has pledged to reinstate the fuel subsidy if elected in 2027.

Sowore criticized the removal of the fuel subsidy by President Bola Tinubu's administration, claiming it has not benefited Nigeria. In a statement shared on his 𝕏 handle, Sowore dismissed Atiku's claims and emphasized that the AAC has maintained a consistent stance against the subsidy removal.

He accused Atiku and his group of attempting to deceive the public and suggested that their positions shift based on political convenience. Sowore referenced the AAC's strong opposition at the Nigerian Bar Association Annual General Conference in Port Harcourt as a catalyst for the current government's reaction to the subsidy issue.
