Fulani Pastoralists Urged to Enhance Security and Peace

The Central Fulani Pastoralists Network (CFPN), represented by Ibrahim Barkindo and Chubado Mondai, has urged Fulani pastoralists to expose criminals and collaborate with security agencies to promote peace and safety in their host communities. This call follows comments made by Yoruba activist Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, regarding security challenges in Oyo State, particularly in the Ibarapa area.

The CFPN expressed concern over criminal activities attributed to bandits and terrorists, which have wrongfully affected the perception of peaceful Fulani residents. They welcomed Igboho's clarification that he remains committed to advocating for improved security in the region without opposing any ethnic or religious group.

The CFPN emphasized the importance of dialogue in resolving conflicts between herders and farmers and reiterated their commitment to peace, coexistence, and mutual respect among communities in South West Nigeria.
