Mozambique Offers ETA for Citizens of 3 African Nations

Mozambique has announced that only citizens from three African countries—Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, and Senegal—are eligible to enter the country using Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) instead of a traditional visa. This new arrangement allows nationals from these countries to stay in Mozambique for up to 30 days without the need for a full visa application.

The Mozambican government confirmed this development, indicating a shift towards more streamlined entry processes for select nations. However, citizens from all other African countries are still required to go through the standard visa application process, which typically involves more documentation and longer processing times.

This move by Mozambique aligns with a broader trend among countries experimenting with digital or simplified entry systems, although the limited eligibility means that the majority of African travelers are not yet included in this scheme.
