Oloolu Masquerade Festival Schedule Released for 2026

The palace of the Olubadan of Ibadanland has released the movement schedule for the 2026 Oloolu Masquerade Festival, which will occur from Tuesday, July 28, to Thursday, July 30. The itinerary, signed by Chief Ayoade Olugbemigbe, Chief Press Secretary to the Olubadan, indicates that the Oloolu Masquerade will operate daily from 4:00 p.m. until dawn, traversing designated routes across Ibadan.

The festival commenced on Monday, July 27, with Aisun Odun Oloolu (festival eve). Oba Rashidi Ladoja, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, urged residents to participate in accordance with Ibadan traditions, emphasizing that women are prohibited from seeing the Oloolu Masquerade.

He also cautioned against taking photographs or recording videos of the masquerade and warned all participants, including Egungun leaders and the public, to avoid actions that could lead to unrest during the celebrations.
